When Art and Science Meet

Insights into Cross-Disciplinary Collaborations

Podium

What are the motivations for artists and scientists to work together and what are the questions and processes they have in common? How do different points of view challenge disciplinary certainties and expand ways of thinking in the Arts and the Sciences?

Artists and scientists will give first-hand insights into their cross-disciplinary collaborations and their working processes and results. One of the programs facilitating such collaborations is the artists-in-labs program from the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK, which draws on 15 years of experience in the field of art-science collaborations and their dissemination into the public realm. The results of these and other collaborations are shared and discussed during this podium.
